The holiday season tends to bring out the best in people. At ABIT Puresoft, CSR is an imperative all year round, but on Christmas we like to get creative with our activities – it is the season of giving, after all.
This year, ABIT Puresoft partnered with Pro Voluntariat association to deliver Christmas presents for 20 underprivileged children from Seleus, Mures county. Each of the children received a personalized present with various items, including toys, candy, winter clothes and school supplies.
We recognize that 2020 has been especially hard for rural communities, who lack many of the resources available in urban areas. As the coronavirus pandemic took hold, the rural-urban gap became wider, resulting in situations where many children from rural areas were unable to attend school online because they lacked devices or even internet access.
Knowing these facts, our team jumped at the opportunity to spread some festive cheer after this difficult year, and thus began Operation Santa’s Helpers. After making the list and checking it twice (per Santa’s instructions), they set out to find the items using their impressive gift-finding skills. Much to the children’s delight, the helpers located exactly what they had asked for and delivered the presents just in time for Christmas. Seeing how much joy they brought, the helpers were reminded that giving is more important than receiving.
ABIT Puresoft is happy to have made a contribution that put a smile on a child’s face, and we would like to thank Pro Voluntariat for their support. The charity has been involved in various projects meant to address the immediate social, educational, health and environmental needs of children from poor communities in Romania.
